In 1998, Ricky Davis went to the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the NBA draft. He would go on to play 12 seasons and averaged 13.5 points,  3.3 assists, and 3.5 rebounds a game. Not bad for the youngest first-round pick that the Iowa Hawkeyes have ever produced.

Over his career, Ricky was passed over for a Sixth Man Award, traded away like a trinket, and never made it past the first round of the playoffs. Through it all, his grit and tenacity endured.

In his 12 NBA seasons, Ricky Davis rose and fell with brothers and teammates that included Lebron James, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Dwyane Wade. Family is tough, and so is a team, but a profound passion for achieving a common goal forged a long-lasting bond between Ricky and many of his teammates.
